Catherine Palace is in the country. I have to ride on metro then change to train then change to bus then arrive the palace. The road is pretty easy to find. There are lots of tourists (mainly visa-free Chinese) in the train station and I just have to follow them to the palace.
The blue palace wall is a prefect with the blue sky and the golden ball room is just amazing. The palace garden is so big that there even is a LAKE! And lots of countless little cottages, bathhouses and churches. Even the most expensive penthouse in the Peak in Hong Kong can’t compare to this.
There is a secret little door in the corner of the garden and everyone can come through that door for free. The locals did their morning jog, shoot their wedding photos or just walk in the garden. The front door has a ticket gate but it close to the palace and more convenience to tourists. The secret little door is free entry but close to the garden. Different door meets the need of different people. It’s a good design and can bypass people. I am happy to see the Russians opening such a beautiful place for its people.
The front side of Catherine Palace is a beautiful golden palace but it is a bit dilapidated in its back side. Just hope there will be a complete renovation in the future.
I ate the most delicious ice cream in the little town outside the palace. I never thought I would have such delicacy in country side. That is the most surprisingly unforgettable memory for me!
