St. Petersburg is an old ancient capital city. Ballet shows in St. Petersburg are even better than in Moscow. But people in St. Petersburg can’t really speak English. I was lucky enough to meet some Chinese exchanged students next to the ticket centre and the Chinese students are so nice to help me to buy the ballet tickets. Although it’s quite expensive (around HK$300) but it’s worth. The ballet show in St. Petersburg is better than any other ballet companies that I have ever seen.
BALLET. It should be danced like THAT.
I saw Swan Lake. The directing, editing, preforming, lighting, background, music are just flawless GREAT. The legs of the white swan are so firm and stable. I always thought the shaking legs in HK ballet company are normal and never imagine the legs can be so stable for a world-class ballet dancers!
The other ‘ducklings’ are amazing dancers too. Their height of jumping is the same. So elegant and light, just BEAUTIFUL!
Even the group dancers are excellent dancers in St. Petersburg. The HK ballet company lost control on their group dancers. Although the main dancer is dancing in the front stage but all the background dancers always moving their hands exaggeratingly to catch the attention of the audiences.
The group dancers in St. Petersburg are very professional and even their looking angle are the same. When the main dancer is dancing in the front stage, all the background crowd dancers are looking at the main dancers to let the audience know the focus should be on the main dancer. The group dancers play a prefect supporting role and make the main dancers even more beautiful.
The only flaw in Swan Lake is the tango scene. The long black dress on the female dancer is not transparent and it down to her ankle. All the beautiful legs moving are covered by the long black dress, what a pity! It would be great if she can wear a transparent white dress.
