I bought a Scoot special price flight ticket, super cheap. Just HK$4260 Hong Kong－Australia, two ways. But the departure time is crazy. I got up at 3am, got in a taxi at 4am, arrived in the Hong Kong airport at 5am, took off at 7am and arrived in Singapore airport at 11am. Just CRAZY!!
I only hope the Australia+New Zealand trip won’t be as crazy as this… (Of course my wish didn’t be granted)
A normal passenger would probably don’t like the idea to wait in Singapore for half day before flying to Australia. But I was the exceptional. I am looking forward to go to Singapore because I want to meet someone!
KaYan was my best friend 10+ years ago. But she and her family migrated to Singapore when we were in primary school. We kept writing letters and we found each other on facebook in recent years. I am finally going to meet her in Singapore after decades, very looking forward and happy!!
KaYan was tall and slim with healthy pale skin. She was, and still are, a beautiful bonita 10 years ago and now. 10 years flew through me when I met my childhood friend again, amazing!
Singapore was sunny. We went to Coney Island for a long walk right after landing. I was amazed I still have energy to walk despite I didn’t sleep much last night.
The park was beautiful. Green trees and blue sky made a perfect setting for photos. I kept dragging KaYan for posing and thanks for her patience：）
KaYan repeated an academic year when she first came to Singapore. She then got into a college for teachers and even be an exchange student in Xi'an, China. She was a Chinese teacher in secondary school now. And she is going to get marry next year and even bought an apartment. Truly congratulations!
I just stuck at home for months after graduation. KaYan laughed and said, ‘Oh, why do you sticking at home and be a rice-ball?’
KaYan was really a teacher and she did arrange everything for me, ‘You, Eat! Take a shower! Go to bed!’
KaYan saw me wondered around for a bathroom and she said, ‘Oh, she keep walking around and didn’t sleep…’
I didn’t sleep well so I just got up and she said, ‘Wow, you did well! You can wake up yourself without an alarm clock!’
Oh, how did we back to Kindergarten / elementary school standard!?
The perception to me seemed to depend on when did people know me. Kayan knew me when I was a kid and she still saw me as a kid…
Um, it was kind of fun to be a kid for once…
I only stayed in Singapore for a rush 10 hours. I am happy to meet KaYan’s parents and her fiancé Simon. We ate good: Coconut, naans, curry, fried rice, cheese pandan cake, fried tofu… yummy! Thanks：）
My mum and KaYan’s mum were old friends. Aunt looked exactly like 10 years ago. Amazing!!
Aunt seems even happier than I when she saw me. She noticed that I didn’t eat much oily food and said in a smile, ‘You are exactly like your mum. Your mum cooks light food and she even cleans the chopping board with hot boiling water!’
She is 100% correct! Daily small details stayed forever for old friends even separated by ocean. My mum really had a good friend and I am happy for her：）
