Government Gardens的土地是毛里酋長Ngati Whakaue1880年捐獻出來的，為了「成眾生之善」。
The land of the Government Gardens was given by the original Maori owners, Ngati Whakaue in 1880.
Ngati Whakaue said, ‘It was for the benefit of the people of the world.’
The Gardens is a volcano active area and it was once part of a swampy, scrub-covered wilderness with steaming pools and mud.
Today it is just a western garden with a museum, a public bath, a small garden and countless memories.
There is a little path behind the museum which lead straight to the Rotorua Lake. Wow, the lake is smoking! You can really jump in for a free hot spring!
