I joined a day trip tour to see Loch Ness Monster (Nessie) in Edinburgh.
Loch Ness was on Scottish highland. It is a long (36.3 km), thin (2.7 km) and deep (227 m) fresh water lake. The visibility is low due to the falling mud from the surrounding mountains. It is a prefect hiding place for some huge water creatures. It was said to be the home of Nessie the famous Loch Ness water Monster.
Legend said that St Columba confronted a ‘water beast’ in the 6th century. Rumours said that Nessie was shy and didn’t like to meet people.
The first photograph of Nessie was made public in 1933. Many claimed witnesses, photos and drawings appeared since then. Lots of mysterious creatures TV shows were shot in Loch Ness. Many tour boats carried tourists around globe who dying to see Nessie sailed on Loch Ness everyday.
It was a grey cloudy day with drizzle when I sailed on a tour boat on Loch Ness. Loch Ness looked like a big nest with white mist rest on the greyish-green mountain.
The tour boat drew a line on the water surface and the sound of motor seemed knocking on the Nessie’s home door and asked, ‘Are you at home today?’
The boat trip was about an hour. The tour guide gave us sandwiches for lunch in the cabin. I ate the sandwiches quickly and skipped the lecture on Loch Ness and climbed on the deck.
Wind was chilly on a sailing deck and the cool drizzle was falling. I was wet and cold on the deck. Loch Ness was beautiful and elegant with or without Nessie.
The visibility in Loch Ness was really low. All I could see was greyish-blue water.
Loch Ness was surrounded by mountains. Some little yellow leaves fell on the lake and form a line. The yellow leaves line was flowing beside the tour boat all the way. The little yellow leaves was floating and sinking, gathering and scattering but always had a shape of a line. It seemed to greet the tour boat curiously, ‘Hi! Play with me! Goodbye～’
No one noticed it of course. Nessie really is a shy creature and didn’t like to meet people. But it had a good manner to send the yellow leaves as representatives to greet the guests. The yellow leaves was a good representatives who had greeted, played and farewell the guests. It was always there and everybody saw it but just didn’t know it was it.
The Loch Ness Monster was a big dinosaur in common stereotype. I couldn’t see any parts of a dinosaur in the boat trip but I believe Nessie was always there but just no one noticed.
Since Nessie was a fantasy creature so we should release our imagination and imagined the yellow leaves was a representatives sent from Nessie.
Human communicated with language but the communication between human and fantasy creature did not base on language but base on HEART.
The appearance of the yellow leaves IS a message. This message was not sent by words but by imagination and had to be felt by heart.
It is normal that different people may have different understanding or some people couldn’t even notice that is a message.
The fantasy creatures are always here and always not here. Their existences just based on the faith we had.
Therefore fantasy creatures are always so fascinated and charming.
I considered myself had seen the Loch Ness Monster and I shared by ‘Yellow leaves representatives’ to Anthony who had hosted me in Dublin.
He asked, ‘My darling, have you eaten the Magic Mushrooms?’
