March 2012 in Ogimi, Okinawa, Japan
The title of this wall painting is ‘Mikawa Ichi’. Although it looks like a ‘contemporary art’ but actually it’s a riddle and the answer is ‘Mikawa Ichi’(三川一). It’s easy to tell by observe the spacing of the colors.
I met ‘Mikawa Ichi’ in Kiyuna dairy farm when I was wwoofing (free accommodation, no salary with 6 days’ work) there in Ogimi, Okinawa, Japan.
Mikawa Ichi comes from mainland Japan and he is a traditional Japanese boy. He is serious, punctual and detail mind and came to experience Kiyuna dairy farm during school holiday.
I want to draw a painting with ‘a higher sense in art’ and the name of ‘Mikawa Ichi’(三川一) just like a picture puzzle so I decide to draw it.
It is a big and funny adventure to get enough colors for this colorful painting with so less color paints leave in the old warehouse in the diary farm.
I own a big thank you to Kiyuna mom and Kiyuna dad who let me graffiti their wall and thanks Mikawa share his beautiful name with me!
Mikawa with a rare big smile!
Kiyuna dairy farm is so beautiful!
