Christchurch Cathedral

(Cardboard Cathedral)

Christchurch suffered from a 6.3 earthquake on 22 February 2011. The Christchurch Cathedral was gone.

A NZ magazine introduced a Japanese architect ‘Shigeru Ban’. He came to Christchurch and built this Transitional Cathedral. This church is made of cardboard. It can house 700 people at most. And it can last for 50 years with a 130% of the current NZ earthquake code.

And by the way, Lawrence Kimberley, the Dean of Christchurch, wrote goooooooooooooooood!
