Gaudi built Sagrada Familia for God. ‘Sagrada Familia’ was the Holy Family of Jesus, Maria and Joseph. The story of the Birth of Jesus was craved on stone in the front door of the church.
Gaudi spent decades to build Sagrada Familia. It had not finished until Gaudi’s death. But Gaudi insisted to build the best church.
He said, ‘My client is in no hurry.’
The ‘client’ is the ‘God’ for Gaudi. Gaudi was the luckiest architect who could build his prefect church and didn’t have to worry about time and money…
I was stunned by the beautiful palaces in St. Petersburg, Russia and the detail craved Alhambra in Spain. All these wonders were completed already. I wouldn’t be amazed again for the seen beauty. But Sagrada Familia is different. It is STILL BUILDING today. It would be a different building every time I visited it. I will definitely re-visit Sagrada Familia again when I came to Barcelona again!
