大清真寺 Sheikh Zayed Mosque
Sheikh Zayed Mosque is the biggest mosque in UAE. It is a national property and cost HK$ 4.2 billion to build (reasonable price, the Hong Kong Express Rail cost HK$ 84.4 billion and NOT finished yet).
The mosque had built 9 years and opened in 2007. It can host 41,000 people.
Ladies have to wear long sleeve and long trousers + scarf to enter the mosque. Gentlemen have to wear long trousers but not scarf. The dress code check point is not that straight.
White marble is the main body of the mosque. I have to take off my shoes before entering the inner mosque. It was cold to step on the marble but glad to know carpet was inside the inner mosque：）
Don’t miss the toilet in the mosque. The entrance has Beautiful flowery decoration：））
UAE is a dessert country but Sheikh Zayed Mosque had a big water pool. It is beautiful to see the quiet pool mirroring the blue sky and white marble. But it cost lots of precious water in dessert area to create this beautiful scene…
The Alhambra in Spain is a Muslim building too. I am amazed by that thousand-years-old beautiful craving in Alhambra.
The Sheikh Zayed Mosque is a modern Muslim architecture. It is simple and beautiful too.
But I like the complex craving in Alhambra better…
